2025 Winter / "Urban Pulse" Opening Reception

The Bridge Arts Foundation proudly announces the fourth edition of its Open Call Exhibition Program, designed to support emerging artists. In its fourth edition, the Urban Pulse Open Call Exhibition features 16 talented artists selected from over 100 submissions through a process led by art professionals.

*Due to the Greater Los Angeles wildfires, some of the originally selected 19 artists are unable to participate in the exhibition. We regret this unfortunate circumstance and extend our heartfelt support to those affected. The final exhibition features 16 talented artists, whose works reflect the vibrant spirit of the Urban Pulse theme.

These artists will showcase their work at The Scholart Selection, The Bridge Arts Foundation's partner art gallery in Los Angeles, from January 25 to February 22, 2025.

Featured artists include Debbie Hu Ricks, Ana Hurtado-Villasenor, Alan Garry, David Larson, Ellen Levine, Haesook Lee, Yufei Ma, James Knauf, Judy Csotsits, Juliane Backmann, Larry Li, Marc Chicoine, Olivia Fredricks, Qianqian Jia, Sean Jiaxing Guo, and Yang Mai.

2025 Winter / "Urban Pulse" Open Call Exhibition

The artists who explore the vibrancy, complexity, and nuances of city life through diverse mediums. Their works reflect urban environments as dynamic hubs of culture, movement, and innovation, while also examining the tensions and challenges that define modern cities.

"Urban Pulse" captures the rhythmic heartbeat of the city—a dynamic interplay between human life and the urban landscape. It delves into how cities shape identity, creativity, and connection, highlighting the balance between personal aspirations and the overwhelming force of urbanization.

From large-scale installations and thought-provoking sculptures to intimate paintings, the exhibition offers multifaceted perspectives on contemporary urban life. By reflecting the pulse of the city, the artists invite audiences to consider how urban environments influence dreams, challenges, and moments of introspection.

Special thanks to our jury members, Charles Christopher Hill and Laurie Ann Farrell, as well as curator Tia Xu, for their dedicated work. We also extend our gratitude to Li Tang for the media support.
